First Day of Practice

The first day of practice came and went we had 24 guys come out for our first practice/tryout. We will have one more practice/tryout before we finalize our roster. I am very excited to have Coach Alvin Green and Coach Tim Meyers back on the bench with me this season. We were excited with having the opportunity to “roll up” our sleeves and get back into the mix of things. I will keep you posted on how the team shapes up.

I am looking forward to the Homecoming weekend and all of the festivities. We will finish practice on Friday just in time for my wife and I to attend the Athletic Hall of Fame banquet – CONGRATULATIONS to the Inductees. Also, congrats to my colleague Jean Willi for her induction into the TA Hall of Fame.

I received word that several of my players from last year’s team will be in attendance at the FB game (Justin Reavis, Kris Cecil, and Rob Rice). I do look forward to meeting other former players who I may have not personally met since arriving at BC last September. So, please stop by the Eagle Club tent so, we can “catch up”, for that is where I will be as the Asst. Director of the Eagle Club and Alvin Green (Asst Coach) will be at the game as well.

Today, I had the pleasure to visit with Bob Boyle (class of ’69 and still holds the record for the most rebounds in a game at 28) and Jason Jones (member of the 1996-97 Sweet 16 team) who both were able to meet several of the current BC players at the Career Exploration Day in Nininger Hall. A few days earlier I was able to visit with Coach Paul Hatcher (class of ’66) and his son Brandon as we toured Nininger Hall and the Men’s Basketball locker room which evolved into a very informative “chalk talk” session as we discussed some “X’s” and “O’s”. This is one of the reasons why I want to connect to ALL former BC players and establish that “brotherhood” with current and former players. http://www.bridgewatereagles.com/sports/mbkb/formerplayers

Lastly, I want to wish all of the sports which are playing this weekend – GOOD LUCK!! Go EAGLES
